American Roulette

American roulette has 38 numbers like 0, 00 and 1 to 36 after two zeros (0, 00) gives the house a gain of 5.26%. In other words, for every $ 100 per player, the house makes $5.26 profit.

European Roulette

The European roulette wheel has 37 numbers including 0 and 1 to 36. A zero (0) gives the house a gain of 2.70%. In other words, for every $ 100 per player, the house makes a profit of $2.70.

Other Differences Between The Two Roulette Styles

One important difference relates to the color chips. While each player at a roulette table in the U.S. will have different colored chips, other players to enter the European casinos, players have the same color chips.
